Product Overview

The Containment Wall M2 3 ft system builds a 14.5 x 55.3 ft inside containment area that holds 18,632 gallons (70,522 L) (system weight 3,007.5 lbs). It includes 20 straight sections, 4 corners and a 30 mil textured polyethylene liner that you assemble on site, creating large, semi-permanent, high-capacity spill containment for frac tanks, tanker trucks, generators and other large containers.

The Containment Wall M2 is not fastened to the ground, so it works on parking lots, concrete, sand, rocky, muddy or frozen soil, and it comes apart for reuse at future sites. Helps meet SPCC and EPA 40 CFR 264.175.

Expert Insights

When selecting a containment berm, calculate the required sump capacity as 110% of the largest container stored within, or 10% of the total volume of all containers — whichever is greater. This ensures compliance with EPA 40 CFR 264.175. Consider UV exposure for outdoor installations; polyethylene berms offer superior UV resistance compared to PVC options.

For cold-weather operations, verify the liner material remains flexible at your lowest expected temperatures. XR-5 and LLDPE liners maintain flexibility well below freezing, while standard PVC can become brittle. Always install berms on a level, debris-free surface to prevent punctures and ensure proper containment capacity.

The UltraTech Containment Wall Berm is a modular, hard-wall secondary containment system built for large, semi-permanent, high-capacity spill containment. Each standard system includes 20 straight sections, 4 corners and a 30 mil textured polyethylene liner, forming a fully enclosed containment area.

Available in 1-foot, 2-foot, and 3-foot wall heights, the modular sections assemble into almost any size or shape and connect with the connector pin included with each section. The system is not fastened to the ground, so it works on parking lots, concrete, sand, rocky, muddy or frozen soil, and it comes apart for reuse at future sites. Helps meet SPCC (40 CFR 112) and EPA 40 CFR 264.175 for frac tanks, tanker trucks, generators and other large containers.

Ideal for: Bulk fuel storage facilities, transformer pads, generator containment, industrial equipment staging, military installations, and any application requiring rigid-wall secondary containment without the cost of poured concrete.

Frequently Asked Questions

Containment Wall M2 Spill Berm System, 3 ft High, 14.5 x 55.3 ft, 18,632 Gal

What size containment berm do I need?

Calculate based on EPA 40 CFR 264.175: the sump must hold 110% of the largest container or 10% of total container volume, whichever is greater. For outdoor use, add freeboard for rainwater accumulation.

How do I clean the containment berm?

Remove accumulated liquids using a pump or wet vacuum. Clean the liner with appropriate solvents or degreasers based on the spilled material. Inspect for damage during cleaning and patch any punctures immediately.

Can I drive equipment over the berm?

Only berms with designated drive-over ramps or track guards should have vehicle traffic. Standard berms can be damaged by forklifts and vehicles. Consider a drive-in berm or ground-level berm with approach plates for vehicle access areas.

How is the Containment Wall M2 different from a standard berm?

The Containment Wall M2 is a hard-walled system of modular polyethylene straight and corner sections with 1, 2 or 3 ft walls. Each standard system includes 20 straight sections, 4 corners and a 30 mil textured polyethylene liner, for large, semi-permanent, high-capacity containment that comes apart for reuse at future sites.
