Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between modular, inline, and standard spill pallets?

Modular pallets connect side-by-side to expand from 1 to 8+ drums as your needs grow. Inline pallets hold drums in a single row, ideal for narrow aisles and wall-side placement. Standard (higher-profile) pallets offer maximum sump capacity in a fixed 2 or 4-drum square footprint.

Do spill containment pallets meet EPA SPCC requirements?

Yes. All spill containment pallets provide EPA SPCC-compliant secondary containment for 55-gallon drums when properly sized. EPA 40 CFR 112.7 requires secondary containment for oil storage — select a pallet with sump capacity equal to or greater than your largest single drum.

What sump capacity do I need for my spill pallet?

EPA SPCC requires your sump to hold at least 110% of the largest container or 10% of total stored volume — whichever is greater. For a single 55-gallon drum, you need at least 60.5 gallons of sump capacity. For 4 drums (220 gal total), you need at least 55 gallons (10%) or 60.5 gallons (110% of one drum).

What is a fluorinated spill pallet and when do I need one?

Fluorinated pallets have a chemical-resistant fluorinated polyethylene surface that resists aggressive chemicals including acids, bases, and solvents. Standard polyethylene pallets are suitable for oils and fuels but can degrade with aggressive chemicals. Choose fluorinated pallets when storing acids, caustics, or strong solvents.

Do spill pallets ship free?

Yes. FREE shipping to Continental US on all spill containment pallets. Estimated delivery is 5–10 business days from multiple US warehouses via LTL freight.
