Product Information

Our high-quality Gas Tank Repair Kit includes everything you need for quick, emergency response to unexpected leaks or drum ruptures. It is well-stocked with more than 43 specialty tank sealer equipment items including wedges, plugs, patches, tapes, and repair putties. The gas tank repair kit also contains all necessary hardware tools for plug and patch installation. All repair kit contents come packed inside a durable, metal toolbox for convenient storage and portability.

This repair kit is suitable for small to large holes, punctures and gashes in plastic or metal drums, diesel fuel tank storage vessels and more. See below for the complete kit inventory list details, part re-order form and instructions.

These professional-quality kits are must-have items for emergency response and gas tank repair personnel, as well as towing and large vehicle/tank operations. We also offer a smaller version kit for Drum Leak Repairs, which comes without the straps and larger rubber/ladder and twin "T" patches.

Select Standard/Non-Sparking Tools

This kit is available with a standard stainless steel or non-sparking safety tool set option that is made of aluminum and bronze. In addition to offering protection from sparks that may cause fires or explosions, the non-sparking hand tools also feature non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant properties.

Non-sparking safety tools are an ideal option for industrial and high technology applications and environments with flammable and hazardous materials. Use non-sparking tools in hazardous drum and gas tank storage locations, or sites where combustible solvents, gasses or residues are present.

Contents Usage & Directions

  • Barrier Tape: Hang this bright yellow tape around areas of caution and to restrict access during leak repair activities.
  • Hot or Cold Hose Tape: Repairs smaller holes, pipes and hoses. For optimal application, use on clean and dry surfaces.
  • Lead wool: Use a screwdriver or knife to pack into hairline cracks or to repair stress fractures, welds, or connections.
  • Fix-Stix epoxy putty: Works to repair small holes and cracks on almost all surface types including metal or plastic fuel tanks. Knead until the color is uniform, then apply so it secures permanently and hardens like steel (20 minute cure time). Suitable for use on wet, round or flat surfaces as well as pipes, elbows, flanges, and potable water tanks.
  • Plug-N-Dike Plug Pattie: Insert this putty material directly into holes to form an immediate seal. It requires no curing time or surface preparation and will adhere to dirty, rusty or greasy surfaces without the need for additional cleaners/degreaser/chemical removers. The PND pattie is an excellent sealant option for metal fuel tanks or to control flammable/hazardous leaks.
  • "T" Patches: For irregular shape holes/gashes/cracks or elongated skin breaks. The wide surface area has a generous 1/4" thick neoprene pad on the facing and stiff, curved stainless steel back-up plate. Use the same application as a ball plug except the T-bolt straddles the crack.
  • Twin "T" Patch: Assemble patch so it will fit the medium to large size hole, using one or both of the T bolts in the appropriate position to seal the leak.
  • Screw Patches: These stainless steel sheet metal patches have neoprene compression seals to restrict and stop flow and are Ideal for pinholes. Take care not to screw too tight and strip the hole during installation.
  • Hard Rubber/Ladder Patch/Straps: Wrap straps around the leaking vessel, position over the top of the rubber patch and its wood support ladder, then tighten.
  • Neoprene/Foam: These materials are useful as an extra gasket sealant to assist as necessary for successful hole repairs.
  • Rubber mallet/drift pin: Use to round holes prior to patching. The mallet may also be used to drive wooden plugs (with or without absorbent pad wrapping) into repair areas.
